Forts & Casualties...

Dublin has always been fond of Betty's toys. Once a week we loose a good toy to his wrath. Betty understands that it's the Circle of Life, & that if she wants to protect them, she needs to always pick them up & put them away.
Well he struck twice this week.
First with her Cinderella build-a-bear dog. We came home and his remains were scattered all across her bedroom. She wasn't mad, just yelled "Naughty Dog" and stated she needed a new one. I had her pose with the dog shell in "ground zero" of the attack.

A few days later he struck again. We got home and started making dinner, I looked at the back door & saw it...her baby Aerial doll. I gasped, she looked & immediately tears formed and she began to sob. "I loved her so much" she gasped in between cries. The moment she broke out into tears, Dublin ran into his kennel & didn't come out for a few hours. (He is a naughty dog & knew he had crossed the line). As I picked up the pieces, Betty just cried and yelled gross. Within 15 minutes she was smiling again, saying she just needed a new one (too bad Santa's elves made it & mom doesn't know where to find more). A day later Betty told her friend Saylor that Duby ate Aerial & Saylor cried too. Bless that baby doll, she was well loved!
Besides losing toys to her ornery little brother Dublin, Betty has discovered homemade tents & forts! She loves them & plays inside them for hours. Missy I wish we could play in the tee-pee.

2010

The first 20 days of 2010 have been busy and good. Betty is on a growth spurt and won't stop eating. Within minutes of opening her eyes in the morning she says she's hungry. She finally gave up the binki. 1 week ago today, we just took it away and it's been okay. She now is a bit more attached to her blankets, but that I can handle. I got released from Nursery and now teach primary age 10 & 11. Betty hasn't missed me for a moment in nursery. This video is a few months old, but I thought I would share.

Best Christmas 2009 Memory:
Christmas Eve I was in my bathroom with Betty and singing "I want a Hippopotamus of Christmas". She looked at me and said'
"You want a Hippopotamus? (pause) You got a necklace".

Christmas Dress

I love the Sunday before Christmas because it means wearing our Christmas dress.

The true Betty comes out as she grabs the hose and chases her daddy.

Meeting Santa

We got all dolled up and headed to mommies work to meet the big guy himself. The first attempt she didn't crack a smile, but a while later & a bribe of ice cream we had ourselves a good picture. HO HO HO
